ABOUT US
Our founder felt like there was something missing in the swimwear space. Brands had become too safe and heavily trend-based, producing plain prints and styles that we felt didn't flatter and consider women's body shapes. AquaJelly hopes to bring a bit of fun and summer personality back to swimwear. Featuring exclusively-designed bold prints, stunning colours, and classic well-cut shapes. We always consider a woman's body shape and endeavour to produce well-cut flattering swimwear that will never go out of style.
WHAT IS AQUAJELLY?
We love the beach. We really love the feeling of a perfect beach day. Have you ever looked at the ocean with perfect waves rolling in on a magical sunny day? The water is a tropical aqua colour and the waves are reflecting the sun to make it look a bit like jelly. That is how the name AquaJelly was born. Whenever we think of it, we are reminded of those perfect beach days we love so much!
ETHICALLY MADE
We are 100% Australian made and owned. We've tried very hard to keep our supply chain as Australian as possible. Our swimwear and prints are designed in-house at our HQ in Manly (with support from Aussie pattern makers and designers!). The fabric is printed in Sydney, then turned into amazing swimwear by incredible local manufacturers. We support local manufacturing every step of the way. We are focused on how well we can make a garment, not how cheap we can do it. The swimwear is handmade by an exclusive team of seamstresses with many years of experience using the best quality fabrics. We produce only small runs of product to ensure we keep wastage down to a minimum. Keeping it local means we also cut out emissions caused by shipping from manufacturers overseas.
OUR ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT
SLOW FASHION FOCUS
We are a slow fashion brand. Only producing small runs of product to limit wastage. We also produce a high quality product so your swimwear will last longer than most if you care for them correctly.
PRINTING & CUTTING
We use sublimation printing which uses a lot less water than other types of printing. Our printers also follow environmentally safe practices. We laser cut our fabric which allows as many pieces of swimwear as possible to fit on the fabric. This reduces fabric wastage.
LOCALLY DESIGNED & MADE
Our production and warehouse are Sydney-based which removes the environmental impact caused by transporting samples and product from overseas via sea or air.
MINIMAL PACKAGING
We have minimal packaging that is 100% recyclable and compostable. We do not use single use plastics in our packaging.
